Same idea as Finder in OSX...
Don't you mean Spotlight? ;)

The only reason I'd ever install Vista would be to have experience using it so I don't flail around in the OS if I come across it. XP is bad enough for me. =P

I found today, that if you want the benefits of Vista (ie, the shiny stuff) without the shit - get the Vista Transformation Pack :)

Or if you're on XP 64-bit like me, get the 'Royale Noir Remixed' theme pack and uxtheme.dll patcher.

I like it. Very spiffy.

Heh, I kinda like the shiny stuff, but I won't be spending money on Vista for quite a while. Where do you get this Transformation Pack? And what exactly do you do with it? And does it require 64-bit?

Kai-Does all the eye candy slow it down a bit? I have dual 2.8Ghz P4's with HT, 1.5 gig RAM, and an nVidia GeForce 5200 graphics card. My XP runs a bit slow, though. Will this slow it down more?
