ok so 3 days ago i had my windows tinted 50% frony and 35% rear. the 2 frint windows look great but the rear hatch look like terriable. they said that the defroster was coming apart and it is leaving bubble on the entire line of the defroster some lines are good but others are not and trash is all in the tint. im not sure if they are just tellin me that so that i would leave or what. has this ever happened to anyone else, has any problems with tinting the rear hatch. and also on the side windows it a white milky look all around it. should i ask them to scrape off the defroster? what would yall do

i had a porche 944 turbo that did what your talking bout, not right away, but it looked like crap cause of the defroster,

imo they should have told you b4 tinting the rear. i would demand ither partial refund or for them to take defroster off and redo it.

Then they screwed up...

Also, the milky white around the edge is the little dots on the glass. Tint won't properly stick to it. I've heard if it's lightly sanded with fine sand paper to even it out that it will help.

im going to take it back up there on monday and tell them they need to fix it. i wonder if i put some sort of heat on the side windows if that milky color would go away such as a heat lamp from the outside

Have them "black out" the dots. You can paint em out and just tint where the dots aren't. Looks WAY better.

i think it would look alot better also. thats what i was hoping they were goin to do. guess they didnt want to take the time to put the work into it

the back window should be done in 3 or 4 horizontal strips so that it can expand and contract in heat and cold, that should keep it from bubbling

On my car the guy before me had the front done at 80. I got a fine for 150. Now I got to tear it off and redo it. In my state they have to show 80 percent. Its kind of silly. I don't know what everyone. Elses state is.

i had a prelude and did the same thing when i tried it myself and it was because i didnt use a blow dryer..The more heat the better it will stick...winters not really a good time to tint but it doesnt matter as long as they use some kind of heat to help it stick...

I drove my old one around with 5% on the back 3 and 35% on the front 3 windows, got pulled over once, said i bought it like that(but I really had it done1 week after the bhg) and didn't know it was illegal and he let me drive away after talking a little about the car and what I had done to it.

If you get your window's tinted in the middle of the summer make sure that you have a/c cause you can't roll the windows down for a couple days to make sure that they properly stick to the window. I did it and my car didn't have a/c due to a user mistake, I broke the tensioner:: angry ::, and ended up rolling around with the targa off and windows up, on 98+ days in July with like 80% humidity, I hate Iowa heat.

Iowa is 70% ;)

Not like it matters the difference between 80 and 70. Pretty much that means no tint for you at all on the front windows. Factory windows now days is around 75% for the UV protection.

Just north of you in MN were only 50%. But that didnt stop me for having 20% on both the caddy and the supra. And yes I have pd. quite a few tickets for the windows at $135 each. But like everything else in life you have to pay to play, :rolf:
