Rolled the windows down in my 89 to try and push her back in the driveway cause she has half of a motor now and I cant stop buying cars....anyway damn heavy car wouldnt budge and now my passenger window wont go up. It went down fine but no up .
Sooo I took apart the door and noticed that if u listen carefully it will click when u press down on the switch but nothing for up. Took the pass switch out of my 88 that functions fine and the same thing so Im pretty sure its not the switches. I also searched here and found some posts about cleaning the conections and i did that then nothing. So.... I dont know allot about windows but could it be a regulator? If so where is it I cant seem to find it in te TSRM or on the door,or is it just a motor problem? I hate hefty bags on the door even on a lawn ordiment....

I haven't seen your car, but I have seen others like it. Over the years, the wires in the door look can break at the pivot in door hinge area. Just a thought.

Check voltages at the motor when you operate the switch.

Just a thought I have removed the engine harness and ecu and that wouldnt interfere at all right? I asume that those controls are solely body harness?
A friend had taken out his computer on his BMW and had problems after that were similiar to mine but im just ranting and im pretty sure that wouldnt effect it on mine

I have the same problem! try this...measure the current going to your motor from the switch i got 10+Amps rolling down but 0.301Amps going up(this is with the motor disconnected) voltage is the -12, +12. Do you get the same results? Also try rolling up the windows by connecting the motor directly to the battery. My window rolled up fine when I did that. I still haven't found the problem though, but I know its not the motor or switches. Any ideas?

Put a voltmeter on the motor connections and operate the switch. You should see the polarity reverse when you toggle between up and down.

Its the same motor for up and down, so its not likely that it will work down but not up!

So I took off the drivers door switch and put my 88s switch in place and the pass window went right up! Connections were clean on both I guess the switch is bad?
It has been suggested for you to get out a voltmeter and check something. Have you?
