1. Why did you get a w58 instead of a r154?
2. Why?
3.yes itll work, but...
4. Why
5. its a stock like clutch, and meant for the GE, probably not a wise call to run 247 ft/lb on a clutch meant for the low 200's.

the reason is because my supra was originally non turbo and i got a full parts car that was turbo auto...and i dont have enough money to buy a r154 by friday to get my car going again.....THUS i gotta work with what i got...at least untill end of fall...maby if i baby it thru winter....but im deff getting a r154...then i also need to save for the driveshaft and another clutch....all together i need around 6-700$ to swap out the w58....bills are in the way of this......

the main differance between the early unit and the late unit is the Release (throw-out) bearing. The late unit had the hub built into the bearing where as the early unit the bearing is seperate and is pressed onto the hub.

The rest is directly swappable.

The later Pressure Plates are soppost to have a slight bit more clamping force, but most all after market stock OEM replacement companies use the later pressure plate. As far as I know, even Toyota discontinued the early one and superceeded it to the later one.

to answer your qestion any clutch for the 7m will work if you keep stock clutch yes you cna get around have tiny bit of fun will ti last long if you drive hard no ti wonte

but if you buy some thing like act ect it will be fine w58's are still pretty stroung for what they are and can do 300 easy 400 plus is pushing it if you drive hard

ok...like usual everyone has their own opinion.....but can there be one completley clear fact posted? from the clutches i posted....which one will bolt on and make my car drive even if it'll frie out in 3 months if i were to beat on it? im not trying to go past 260 hp untill spring....over the winter im saving to build a serious motor in the spring...so for now just to drive normal on stock boost...will either one of them clutches bolt up?

Yes, either one will work on an N/A flywheel, the problem is in the release bearing like I posted before..........

What ever the release fork is from is what one you should get.

I.E. if the release fork is one from a 87, then go with the kit that is for the 87 or if its from, lets say a 90, then get the one for a 90.......
