Will these rub on a hard launch? (Wheel size + tire size question)

I'm looking at getting another set of WELD 15x8 drag wheels with 5.5" backspacing.

Will a MT ET Street tire: 275/60/15

rub the fenders on squat?


What 15" wheel/tire combination are you running?

this a 27" slick on a 16" wheel with 5.5" backspace 8" wide wheel

28" slick on a 15" wheel 6.5" backspace 10" wide wheel

If youre lowered, yes. Stock height, you might get away with it.

The setup i will be running on my new street supra is 15x9 w/ 5.5" bs draglites with 275/50 ET radials, The car isnt lowered, but i still don't want to take chances of rubbing with the 60 series ones.

Just FYI in case you didn't already know, the 275/50's actually have 1" more tread width than the 275/60's. (the ET street radials that is...)

I'm considering some RX7 wheels as well... do a 255-50-16 ET street.

Whichever... as long as it hooks, all I care about.
