Will stock airbox kill my power?

Just my five cent's: I had the cone filter set up. I couldn't stand the fluttering when I let up on the gas, it sounded pretty crappy, so I when back to stock and it sounds a hell of a lot better
maybe I just needed a better blow off valve instead of the stock one. But the stock box stopped the fluttering.

My dad rebuilt his 7M.
Full balance from crank pully/damper to clutch, shot peened rods, high flow oil pump, reco'd head with a bit of a port and polish but nothing too major.
Exhaust is 3" with decent downpipe.
Not sure on the turbo size - CT26 but has been upgraded. Running about 15psi making 315rwhp. Stock intake piping with K&N panel/cone type filter in the stock airbox. Seems to work ok.
