Will rod knock be detected by knock sensor?

Will rod knock be confused with engine knock and send a signal to my computer to retard the timing? I just learned the sensor listens to determin knock based on sound. Also is there an audio recording of what engine knock sounds like?

One more thing, im using a N/A block in my current build up, the N/A block has 1 knock sensor instead of 2, what do I connect my second wiring harness plug into because I have a turbo harness or do I just leave it unpluged and it wont send any nasty codes?

no if you leave it unplugged it WILL throw a code. i know that the ge block has the bosses for the KS but i dont know if it is tapped already..

ummm I think that was a video/audio of rod knock not engine knock (boost related) Unless the turbo is putting out massive boost at idle lol, so anyway for the NA block its okay to leave one knock sensor unpluged in my harness? From what I understand when it hears knock it makes voltage so if I left one unpluged it wouldent throw any codes or anything??

No, but if Toyota was smart it would have. :nono:

yes, the knock sensors DO detect knock. they wont throw a CEL for knock, but they'll retard the timing and enrichen the fuel mixture. you just wont know it until it's audible knock. (or when you realize that your car is running even more rich than it should, and coughing/sputtering when you floor it)

the KS's will only throw a CEL if: the wiring is bad, a KS is bad, or if it's unplugged. code 52 is to let you know the operating status of the actual KS circuit, NOT that you have knock.

I have a turbo computer and harness and NA block WHAT DO I DO WITH MY SECOND KNOCK SENSOR CONNECTION!??
try splicing the two KS wires together and hooking just one up. Wouldnt this work?
