will an 7m-ge fit instead of a 7m-gte

i need to rebuild my 7m-gte for some serious horsepower i need a motor to put in it for the time being, will a 7m-ge fit in place, i don't plan on using the turbo or anything will it hook up fine?, if not what do i need to do to make it fit, and run

my gte will be out of commission for at leas 6 months and i need something so i can have an everyday driver

your help would be greatly appreciated thank you

yes it will but your gonna have to change the wiring harness and unless you want to do that twice i would just get a daily while your building the other 7m.

IMO, it would be much easier and cheaper to purchase a 1500 dollar beater and drive that then resell it...

Yes this is very very similar to the ever so poular NA-T swap, just backwards. The only thing that will be "nonturbo" wil be the exhaust manifold, absence of intercooler and the NA block and head....

Wouldnt you need the n/a engine harness? considering the N/A ecu uses single coil+dizzy? plus the absense of the 2nd knock sensor so forth?

Tape #2 Knock sensor to the loom

Use ALL of the GTE electronic parts it'll run fine.
(it will act like a GTE that is off boost)
