Will 245/45/18's fit on the front?

I have an 89 turbo, lowered on Tokiko Blues with Eibach Prokit springs. I was running 245/40/18 tires that suffered some damage. I may be able to pick up some 245/45/18's on sale. Does anyone else run this size on the front and do you have any issues with rubbing?

Thanks guys,

Mark

I don't run that size, but here's a quick help:

245/45/18 = 26.7" tire height
245/40/18 = 25.7" tire height

If it were me, I'd take a hard look in the wheel well and see if there's an extra .5" all around the tire. Take into account a bit of suspension travel. You don't want anything rubbing if you hit a bump at speed.

Maybe someone has run them and will chime in.

It looks like it will barely fit but it should be alright. Hopefully someone on here has tried successfully.

Thanks

What's your suspension setup?

Thanks!

Nevermind, I checked your build thread and saw what setup you have.

Thanks

So, I slapped on the 245/45/18's and they are rubbing. Not sure what they are rubbing on but I think it's just the plastic cover on the inside of the wheel-well. I may be able to fix it as the plastic cover looks to be missing a couple of screws so it is not up tight against the inside of the fender.

It should work since you had 245/40 before.

I know what your saying, it should work. I looked under the car the and suspension is not the problem so it must be the fender-well cover.

On another note, using 45 profile tires on the front and 35 profiles on the rear looks a little strange. Luckily I just bought these tires used as a temporary solution until I can afford something better.
