Hello guys,

When i start the car in the morning it runs very rough possibly due to some moisture somewhere, but thats not the problem.

The problem is, as soon as i set in motion I sometimes hear a scraping sound coming from the front of the car. I can also feel it in the gas pedal as if the whole engine is scraping against something. There is no real consistency in it and it happens on and of periodically. I mostly notice it when the engine is cold though.

When I drive slowly and hit the brakes just moderately the scraping-sound will return, I dont even need to be hitting the gas when breaking. And it does not matter if there is a gear in or not, wether the clutch is down or not.

Have any of you ever experienced something like that? I am thinking it might be the engine-mounts but how do I check those without having to pull the engine up? I got the old 86 engine mounts which are not that prone to breaking as the newer ones..

Sounds like your brake indicators are giving you signs that your front brakes are low. Anyways, give the front an inspection.

I inspected the brakes, it has nothing to do with the brakes, the brakepads are brand new.

When you brake or accel the engine "could" move around in the engine bay hitting something, no clue what though. it also seems to be RPM specific... Very wierd!

I made a video of the sound today, ill try uploading it somewhere later.
