I would do the 225/245 f/r combo, but you have to keep in mind the sidewalls. 225/50 and 245/50's will look kinda kooky, because the sidewall dimension is not the same for both. The sidewall is an aspect ratio, sometimes you have to try on a new pair of shoes to see if you like how they look. (OK so chickish,..I know! but check it out) On my MKII I had 225 fronts on 245 backs, same 60-14's but my car looked awesome!
Like a trans-am!
Cause the back was noticeably higher than the front. If that's your look? you're all set.
I had jacked up the rear end by ordering the same profile tires.(oh bye the way! don't go bigger than 225/60/14 and 245/60/14 on a MKII)not with stock shoes anyway.
Anyhoo, some of these guys are saying 265 on the sawblades.I'm always about bigger bein' better, However!
Just cut the sidewall, bye that I mean pay it some mind! to prevent possible rub.
And make sure your springs are up to it, your springs are VERY important.
I run 255/50/18's on my MKII in the back and they rub like hell.
Partly 'cause I should've run 245's, partly 'cause the Eibach springs I got are shit, too soft a spring rate.
Oh well, next time!
