It is more like they have been given the duty, not the privilege.

Jeff gave his explanation already, right on this thread. Let’s move on.

…Is it just the same members that keep on and keep on talking about me, and is it just the same members that keep on making the decision to ban me for an extended period?
I am really just plain and simply PUZZLED. :aigo: …
No offense, but there are more people complaining than you think. If you only knew how much, you would thank the admins for handling so many complaints as opposed to calling their actions retarded.
And if you really must know since you are still asking (it seems as though you haven’t accepted Jeff’s reasoning), there are two schools of thought:
1) People thinking this is only the internet and saying, “don’t take things so seriously.”
2) People treating others as they want to be treated and wanting true and accurate info, and taking the site more seriously.
Now I personally believe that just because “this is only the internet” is a crock of shit. It is a way of communicating, just like the telephone is a way of communicating. You can’t call someone up and say something and then later say, “Well, that was only the phone; I am not like that in person.” I really don’t like hearing that “this is only the internet” at all.
People spend all of their money on their projects based on what they read on this site; members make decisions on how to build their projects with info from this site. The members need to have some degree of accuracy and accountability to the forum. People should post if they have some degree of accuracy. This site is a host to some of the best members of the MKIII community. This site is where many of the true and mature MKIII enthusiasts come. If I have something to say about it, I would say that I want to keep it that way! There are other sites where being accurate is not quite as desired as here. There are other sites where there is lots of “noise” and where many of the people act like they are class clowns. It is cool to have a sense of humor but many of the members of this forum take the site and the info within it more seriously.
Nobody expects anybody to know everything, the people only expect that members post if they have a sound basis for taking a stance on a topic. We need to have some degree of accurate info when we post.
For example, when I post, I state my reasoning. I state if I am speculating. I state if it is something I have heard, and from whom. If I should have a misconception, I state my reason for thinking so and then move on. If I think someone is not backing down in an argument when I know they are wrong, I don’t let it go many times. I think they should learn to accept that they need to back down sometimes and let things go if they are wrong. If they can’t let an argument go when wrong, then their “I want to be right even when I am wrong” is bad for the forum – so why should I let them continue their habit? (Many others feel the same way to some extent of that.)
Maybe guidelines for the some members should be:
Members here require other members to post if they have accurate info worth reading (guesses or not well thought out ideas are not good enough many times). Please contribute, but with good judgment.
Please take into account that many members here like to act more mature and get irritated when some may act immature.
If you really believe something, state your stance on a topic with backed up reasons and info, then just move on. Let your info make the case, not 20 ongoing bickering posts afterwards.
If it is a non-important topic, don’t get half of the forum going for a moot point.
Take in consideration that the situation of constant ongoing problems -- that should not really have occurred in the first place -- is not fair for the admins. They have lives, families, jobs, and other commitments to attend to. If a member can’t handle himself over and over again, it then becomes the admins’ job to read everything pertaining to the ongoing problems, and constantly come up with resolutions using their best judgment, along with dealing with all the PM’s that also have to be exchanged, posting on the threads (maybe even locking them), and trying to keep people happy over and over again over arguments/problems that maybe should have not occurred in the first place.
I just gave you the recipe for success on this forum, siman. It took me time to write it. This is not my first time looking out for you. I may not even be interested in coming back to this thread, to further discuss the topics in this post. I did not mean to point a finger at your or accuse you in this post, I only took in consideration what I absorbed from the general consensus of different people, along with a few instances I have seen.
If you comply, you should not have a problem.
If you chose to ignore my suggestions, all I can say is that those members against you will win for a permanent ban.
