I know of a night pager adapter kit for the 300zx, i know about the mark 4 brakes. But what about the 3000gt? I mean, they are unbelievably heavier then our cars, yet their stock brakes actually stop very well! I mean they have 5.x114.3, 17 inch rims stock, so the bolt pattern is right, and i mean, has there been any attempts into using these? Just a thought. Input is as always appreciated.

I think we've established the bolt pattern ;)

....so what about the brakes? I'm curious about whether the calipers are better or whatever makes them stop well. I like the idea that this could potentially be cheap for the do-it-yourselfer (however I'm lazy so I think I'd just go with the Wilwoods :))

Just because the rotors fit our bolt pattern doesn't mean they'll fit. The other factors include the disc's offset from the rotor's hub and how the calipers mount.

If you can find one at a junk yard, try it out.

why do designers not put two calipers on a disc? they make multi-piston calipers, why not make multi-caliper brakes. one on the front and back of each disc. i know itd be pretty damn hard to get them to push at the same time with the same pressure, is that the only reason?

omg it's 200lbs joe!
nice job guys. i bet you didnt know at full weight these things weigh close to 4300 lbs. so quite a bit more then 200 lbs. and even if you don't believe me, (i have a friend who weighed his on a truck scale) 200 lbs isn't anything to scoff at, they are newer technology and even in stock for stock, they stop faster then our beloved mark 3's.

even still... if it weighs more and stops better.. why not give them a shot and see if you can get them to work, not like your getting less performance.

It's already easy enough to lock up your brakes as it is with even the stock calipers. How much clamping force do you need?

your brakes only matter if your tires can hold traction.

CRE: that's a pretty neat link.:)
