Why is my car slow?

Your car is almost stock( 7 psi). For less than a buck, shim your wastegate to 13 psi and you'll have a lot more . That is the best bang for a buck.

Have you checked for codes?? If it feels flat you could have a faulty knock sensor which is pulling your timing. Have you checked your base timing? That could also be retarded a few degrees, the car will boost but will still be slow.

I have the base timing set to 15 degrees advanced and im not detonating. I read that a bad TPS can make it feel like a boost leak too. Well my TPS is bad and ive got one on order should be here tomorrow (they ordered the wrong one the first time) I guess a bad TPS would cause the ECU not to know where the throttle is and adjust timing accordingly and fuel accordingly. I sure hope this helps my car out alot.
Im also looking at getting a widemouth downpipe and the second cat removed. Then Im gonna be making my own hardpipes and im gonna be polishing out the throttle body and 3000 pipe when I have them off for the TPS change.
Ive already shimmed my wastegate to get the 7psi ive got now. I was maxing out at about 5psi without any shims. Im hoping the upgrades ive decided to do will raise my boost and spool time (it sucks right now) and if its still pretty low (which i doubt it) ill shim it more. I dont want to be shoving in all that air and cant get it out with the restricted stock exhaust

Upgrade to a proper downpipe with an integrated elbow, replace your intake with a decent flowing one, scratch your exhaust all the way from the downpipe to the rear end and replace it with a full 3" model, and pickup a manual boost controller from Dr.Jonez, set it to 11psi and go.

You won't have any concerns about being slow anymore. Of course, then you are going to start blowing up old worn out parts.

Clutch, center support bearing, brakes, old hardened brittle rubber hoses, vacuum lines, timing belt, fan clutch, alternator, turbo, IC piping, spark plug leads...

I could go on for some time, but the fact is that driving a car fast will put a lot more strain on the whole car, so you'll break a lot more stuff before it becomes a reliable powerhouse.

I got my new TPS and while I had it out I polished the inside of the throttle body, honed and polished the inside of the 3000 Pipe and took off the snorkel on the stock air box.
I was on the highway and I noticed that i had about a 1/2psi more boost and the car is now running better and no idle problems I also did the SOGI shifter mod and thats helped shorten my shifting times alot but I dont like how much sound I get from the tranny now through the shifter

i personally dont mind the stock shift lever height, i might get a C's or somethign to shorten the throw, but i like how i can hold the shifter like i would a gun.

Hmm... I wonder if he was racing a 280z or a 240sx. Different animals to say the least.

Holy crap! I've got to quit posting when I'm drunk!LOL!:aigo: I was thinking 240Z, and he was talking about a car my son used to own, the 240sx S13! They are torquey little truck motors, but should have not have beaten a Supra with that stock motor. My son was getting ready to buy his SR20 red top clip for his coupe when he wrecked it:cry: It would have whooped my Supra, had he gotten it done. It tipped the scales at a mere 2600lbs (stripped interior) had coilovers (Tanabe's) rims/tires and a host of other cool shit on it, and was a blast to drive, even with the open diff! But I digress, pardon for the huge brain fart on the answer to the post!:biglaugh:
