Always had my location up. Who cares if someone steels your car, thats what insurance and photos of the engine bay are for.

That and I'm pretty sure most folks know they would get shot if they were fucking around in my yard.

Im with brent, in some areas car theft may be more prevalent though. I dunno, here in Cary, Im not worried. Besides if they were to steal it they wouldnt get far with that rod knock afflicted motor in it, lol. When I crank my car again I will take a vid so you guys can hear it. Its rod knock in its worse form, Im pretty much just hoping and praying that the car wont send a rod through the bottom end when I try to put it up on a trailer to get to the 'rents house to swap the motor out for the one Im building

haha it's crazy to read this thread and hear how many of us have problems with the supra. i guess we just don't learn
Yeah its true a bunch of us do have problems with these cars. But they are old as hell and can be made reliable, if the proper precautions are taken. My car actually had the knock when I bought it. I couldnt hear it because the fan clutch was locked into position and once I fixed that it was painfully obvious  But thats what I get for buying a car Id never seen running. Even though this was my worst case scenario when buying the car, I only paid a grand for it. So even with the extra money Im dumping into it (which I would have done anyway, who wants an NA) I would still have spent much less than the car is actually worth since the VIN comes up as a turbo car according to my insurance co.

I KNOW it will all be worth it in the end. I love the sound a straight 6 makes, even as an NA, the first time I put the car through its paces and heard that growl I got goosebumps

Yeah man, I freaking love that car. Thats why I decided not to move it from my apt complex until the motor Im swapping in is completely built to my liking. For now, I just love looking at it and sitting in it making noises, lol. Its just unfortunate that I got one with more problems than I was planning on and everything seems to cost so much (atleast the parts Im willing to put on the car, Ive cheaped out on another project car of mine, 4bngr, and it was one of the things that bugged the hell out of me about it b4 it was totaled). But even though my car has been down for about 5 months, it is my dream car (well one of them, hehe), and I will continue to do so until I know it will be ready for me.
