Last batch for now.

My camera doesn't appear to be as good as it used to be when it cost 6 times what its worth now.

Probably time for a new one.

Rust isn't that bad, nice. If it were mine, I'd rip out all of the interior and strip the paint off the body and deal with all that right now. Any plans for the drive train?

What are you talking about, those floor pans are solid rust and I don't even wanna know how bad the undercarriage is.

Yes, rust, with emphasis on the solid part. I can stand on them. Undercarriage is fine. Frame has been correctly repaired and is in good shape.

The rust on the floorpans is from moisture on the top getting in through bad weatherstripping, no holes in them.

Plus, if worse came to worse, there's nothing difficult about making some new pans.

Goal right now is to get it in good mechanical shape (Really just needs new carburetors [on their way], rear shocks, and brake work), then do a paint and body job.

Drivetrain is going to be pretty much stock for the time being. Someday when my dad gives it up I may put a 7m in it.

Like I said before, we bought it for pretty much a song. I've seen non-running 240zs with worse rust going for 3x the price.

I've seen Zs way worse than that, that doesn't look too bad lol

You should build your dad a 3-3.2l stroker motor ;)

Just thought I'd add I saw another Z with wayyyy worst rust than this today. I also saw a gorgeous one owner garage kept slightly modified one that was pure sex! And a 300hp NA rally 280, all in one place.

I'm fairly certain it's a stock lip, it just looks different w/o the front bumper...

Ha, sounds like a little Z museum you stumbled on there Quin

The guy also had a 30k mile 200SX, every Fairlady from 61-Z, and a couple Triumphs and a beautiful E30 and an old English Ford in an ENOURMOUS garage he just built for them. Back in the woods he had the Z, some more English Fords, a Studebaker truck, an L24 complete with 3" diameter hole with rod sticking through the block (he said they got it running like that, then noticed the oil everywhere, and yanked the block out. This was in the rally car, not the Fairlady).

Ha, that's impressive.

I've also got a '64 TR4 that isn't ready for restoration yet (it needs a LOT of work)... it's in line behind the Z and the XJ-S

You have too many project cars, you should give me the Z and the Jag so you can get your other cars done ;)
