alright it's not the throttle linkage. i'm running straight cable and i tried lifting on the pedal while the idle was high and it did nothing. my idle screw is in there. i actually raised the idle alittle because sometimes at high rpm decelleration, if i push in the clutch real quick, the rpms will fall too quick and sometimes stall. i'm going to check for vacuum leaks. and i got a spare ISC i'm gonna put on and see if anything changes.

There's your answer.

well, i checked for vacuum leaks and found nothing. i adjusted the dashpot alittle. i also adjusted the idle screw. i unplugged the ISC connector and took it for a test drive and the idle didn't jump up when i shifted. so, i plugged the connector back in, went to start it up and it wouldn't even idle, so i unplugged and it fired right up. so i'm guessing it's using the default setting by the computer? the car idles now at like 1200rpms...even with the idle screw all the way in. can i just set the rpms lower with my SAFC2 or will that mess anything up??

thanks for all the helps guys!

Why would you mess with the idle screw if the idle speed wasnt a problem? Would have made more sense to mess with the dashpot then the idle screw.

Also would have made the process of elimination a lot easier if we had known you messed with that.

well, like i said i only adjusted it cause it would stall out sometimes if i pushed in the clutch at a high rpm for it drop back to idle. the idle would drop really low and stall or sometimes it would stay low and then jump back up

stupid question.. what is the dashpot? i ask because i have a simaliar problem as the OP stated he had. Seems like everytime i come to a stop, or just get out of gear and coast in nuetral my car dies. If i give it gas it will stay alive till i let off the gas then it dies. If i restart the car, however, it will idle just fine. Untill i drive and come to a stop agian. Not sure what would cause this. Sorry dont mean to high jack the thread, just thought maybe we have a simaliar problem here.

Again? What changed to make it stop the first time?

I have the same problem, when clutch is pushed in, the rpms rise ~250 and then go down, or sometimes they stay for a short while on the last rpms and then go down.
The throttle valve is dampened from the dashpot, though could that really be the problem here at all? ISC cleaned, TPS should be in spec. Idles at about 800-850. (no screw on TB to turn, running MAFTPro in SD).
