Why do people list supra's as a V6?

I think most engine knowledge in the USA doesn't extend past whatever is under the hoods of their Mustangs and Camaros.

People don't know that V is the formation, they just think it means how many cylinders. I actually had a kid argue with me that his Ford Escort was a V4...

That happened with me and a friend with his old Hyundai Accent... :biglaugh:
