Very cool. (Excuse the pun... LOL)

Have a Fluidyne, would have bought the CSF twin core, or the Koyo, but got a good deal on what I have...

This should be a very good upgrade for any MK3 based on cost, and volume. (I'm guessing the three cores are 1/2" tubes, lots of fins, and large fabricated end tanks with the mounting points for the stock shrouds etc.)

Mine is a single core, but it's 1" tube is quite large, and has excelent ability to radiate heat into the air flowing over it. The more cores you have, the less the last ones can radiate heat, but still, volume of coolant wise, it's not that much of a problem.. :) Most of the three and four row radiators I've worked with in the past have been on large trucks and some muscle cars..

This radiator, along with all the others available really give the MK3 chassis some options for better than OEM style cooling. (And now, at a better than OEM style price too. That's going to drive down the price on the crimp on plastic end tank radiators, just watch.)

Ha, thats the same price i'd sell it for.
Ok, lets do this. I'm going to talk to a mod and 1st try to become a vendor, 2nd, try to organize a group buy. I will post in here the new thread for the group buy if they approve. Basically here's the stats on the rad that i have now.

Release time: 2 months
3 Row w/ 18-22 fins per sq/in
Price: $210 (if we can get 15 we can do $200. $210 is already the lowest Mishimoto will let me sell)

Their fans are the "zip tied" kind of ones like the FAL's so if you'd like a fan package too, let me know. Mishimoto requires a really high buy in, but they told me if i had a decent size order (like 15 rads) then they could wave it. Ok, i'm off

Nah you were right. I posted earlier that was an estimate they had given me previously when I started this thread. Since then, they've developed the rad into a 3 row, so they raised the price a little for the increased size

what about a radiator, twin e-fans and a control unit for the fans? seen similar packages for about $450 online

could you beat that price?

If it looks like the MK4 one in the eBay page but for the MK3 I am 100% in. My stocker looks like crap and cools about as well.....:3d_frown:

I just read this whole thread and here are my thoughts:

1. Electric fans suck balls if you're in any kind of warm climate, I haven't seen anything that tops the stock clutch fan. If you run a DECENT electric fan then you have to upgrade your alternator and pray that you don't get stuck in stop and go traffic and your fan doesn't outrun your alternator at idle.

2. All stock fan shroud provisions and hydrofan provisions are a big selling point. I love my Koyo radiator to death as it fits just like a stock unit would.

3. Retaining the factory tranny cooler shouldn't be a breaking point for anybody. If you're worried about your cooling enough to buy a bigger aluminum radiator, you should be able to spring the 40 bucks for an external tranny cooler and run 6 feet of rubber hose to plumb the thing. Adding those provisions would just drive up the cost of the radiator for the VAST majority of supra owners who have no intentions of using the factory tranny cooler provision.

That being said, sounds like a competitive product is coming to market, I hope it turns out well.

Zach = +1

Pretty much exactly. I wouldn't do an internal tranny cooler in it, as it drives the price up, and an external cooler is leaps and bounds better anyway, for very little money.

Are the core dimensions the same as stock, or will it have larger tanks with less core area? Dimensions, please. (If I missed them, I apologize)

core L and W
tank L and W
overall L and W

Edit: and height. Knew I was forgetting something...

Thanks for that. Threadjacking!? Who did that, thanks for that too!

So as far as actual dimensions, they haven't given me any, just the 3 core size. I'll ask if they have any actual dimensions tomorrow. Internal tranny I can tell them to negate, should i give the go ahead? I know personally i wouldn't want one w/ my 5spd. I could include an external Mishimoto cooler for the autos. MSRP is a piddly $35 which means you would get it for probably around $20-25.
Also I could create a package with 2 12" fans for an additional $120. 210 + 120= $330 BAM! Price beat Selfinfliction :) They dont have any control units, but i'm sure a FAL unit could control it. Basically any thermostatic control unit could control them. My control unit is a manual swich that only comes on when i'm sideways and there's no direct air across the rad. other than that, w/ my stock crappy cooling system my Stealth Soup doesn't over heat.
And Zack, if you have e fans that flow more cfm than the stock fan, how can that be worse? Also you dont leave your fans on the ENTIRE time you drive or are sitting, ever notice how the front drivers fans come on, then off, then on, then off.

Did that thoroughly satisfy ??s for now? I've PM'ed Schaeff about the group buy and apparantly i'm approved to post in the Misc. Vendors so dont be afraid to hit me up!!! I'm just here to help! And race, and drift (sometimes)

Let me know when you start this. Seriously.

Just find out about stock mounting points, both for the radiator (remember the top clamps are CURVED) and the stock fans/shroud.
