i'm with you dirgle on that last statement, as this is my last.
SImann, i had indeed said that the Cummins 600 was the best light duty diesel when paired with either Ford's Powerstroke, or Chevrolet(Isuzu)'s Duramax.
and i can safely guarantee that there are more Cummins powered Dodge Rams on the road at this moment than either Ford Powerstroke or Chevrolet Duramax.
and i can say this with confidence for one reason
would you like to know why?
Dodge was marketing the Cummins at LEAST 5 years before Ford or Chevrolet took off with their own. ford at the time of the Cummins debut was still running the older diesel (7.4?), and chevy still had the 6.5... neither were worth writing home about, and the Cummins was the best thing to be had at the time. Now Ford and Chevy are catching up... but guess what Ford has coming? they have contracted Cummins to produce their own V8 Turbo Diesel for the (07?) F-Series lineup.
now, i completely disagree with your statement about salesmen and how much they know and that they must know a lot because they make money off of me.
and i dont want to hear a bit about this because im entitled to disagree with you about this. you know not a bit about me, and evidently nor do you about how LITTLE salesmen actually do know. 99% of the time it's BS what the salesmen are feeding you. they dont sell ME cars, i have never bought a car from a dealership. when i do, i do hope that the salesman knows what's about to happen to his sale. he wont be BS'ing me through the motions, nor will he stick me in a car i really dont want. i test drove an SRT-4 and the guy asked me a bit about my car, and actually told me that "it was about time i trade that old thing in"
now, granted, i wasnt gonna buy the little neon, i just wanted to beat it a bit... well didnt i do a 5k rpm 1st gear drop and get back to the dealership and tell him i wasnt interested...
so quick recap, ok?
more cummins on the road than ford or chevy due to earlier release date... DUH???
salesmen dont know shit about what they're selling other than what's printed in the brochure...
and keep going back to chevy? what about ford, too? this conversation is about ford, chevy, and dodge. so, of course i'll be mentioning each of them in my replies to your words of wisdom.
so, now... over and out, captain.
lanky, i'm sure you can lock this one up now...
sorry, loki.
