Well you DID specify "reliable" we all know the Toyota ones last 15+ years I don't think anyone has data for a cheaper aftermarket one 
I look at the potential engine damage PITA ratio if it lets go and think that's not a bad price to get the genuine one.

Good points all, I just wish Toyota wasn't quite so proud of theirs.
Over the years I've learnt to take a tube of KY to the parts counter it hurts less that way when they assrape you
