JL Premium Interconnects, Monster S16-2 XLN Speaker Wire, Monster 4AWG Power/Grounds. Pretty simple for the sake of less weight (just want something nice to listen to in the Supra).

My Solara system was on a completely different level...

That one was run with Monster 0/1 AWG from Odyssey Dry Cell battery back to a 3 way splitter at the rear seats putting 4 AWG to each amp and cap. I ran Mobile Spec PRO ICE Interconnects and Speaker Wire. Nifty stuff...

If you just want loud with no popping get some 6.5" Infinity References (6022i) and the 6.5" pods to go up front. They'll sound a whole lot better and louder than your stock 4"s, especially when amped (there will really be no comparison)... Not sure how "loud" a Toyota Matrix sound system is, but these should certainly out do it in every single way... Pretty clean, loud (they're pretty high output/sensitive and they're 2Ohms to drive more power from amps), readily available and inexpensive...

You don't really need rear speakers, but if you're going for loud it'll obviously give you more output having them in... You have many choices, but if you go with the above speakers, the Infinity Reference 4022i would be a match (high output, 2Ohm 4" speakers), or you could go with a pair of Polk Audio db501 speakers for a larger diameter (5") speaker that will fit flawlessly for your rears. The Polk would probably be a cleaner speaker with better output (due to the size), but may clash with the Infinitys due to using different materials...

England!
I'm currently running the crappy stock setup through a fairly decent kenwood headunit and it's bloody awful.

Has anyone got experience with Infinity 6012's? I was thinking using those up front, stock rears and a 12 inch sub, maybe even a crappie amp.
