OK my supra got some quality time today. I thaught i had a BHG and i knew i had a wiring problem. I thaught it was a horrible wiring probelem but just a loose wire to my CPS that finally killed over..easy fix. But the problem i am concerned about is it is pouring white smoke. I thaught it was under acceleration well at least it was yesterday. I ran a compression test on it today and all the cylinders were above 135. Today it seemed like it was when i let off the throttle...Iv heard synthetic burns white i run mobile 1 full synth.Could that be a possiblity? i also have just a downpipe on there right now the second cat cut off...I had the valve cover gasket leaking alil while back so i replaced it i thaught it was oil dripping on the downpipe that was burning off but i thaught it should have burned off by now? maybe? Could it be a cracked head still maybe? Valve seals? by some wierd chance fuel? anyways hoping for a good suggestion to try out thanks guys

well from what i know of ......toyota from the factory says the compression in the cyls. is suppose to be around 142-145 psi. 135psi for a almost 20 yr old motor isnt that bad. N/A motors are suppost to be from what i remember around 156 psi.

and you only posted one number from your compression results. you really need to post the results of EVERY cylinder in order for anyone to give you any advice.

obviously with that number the motor is worn, but that dosnt mean it has a BHG.

thick white smoke is almost ALWAYS coolant.

next step? pressure test the cooling system.

test it cold, see if it holds the pressure. if not you have a leak somewhere, possibly into the combustion chamber(s).

if that looks good, let the motor warm up wit hthe tester still hooked up. if the pressure goes crazy after its warmed up, you have combustion gasses leaking into the cooling system.

hmmm...how's your brake master cylinder? When the master cylinder went out on my NA, it was puffing HUGE clouds of thick white smoke when you would push the brake pedal...sometimes just by itself though...Interesting, brake fluid burns white, just like coolant...the smell is totally different though...what does your smoke smell like? sweet?

those numbers are all pretty low, but they are all close to each other. not enough to indicate a major leak in any one cylinder.

pressure testing it should tell you for sure if you have a BHG or not.

Well did a pressure test and i am pretty sure BHG but whats funny is i had the highest compression in #6 and thats where i have the water! anyways guess time to do a HG job...now i need to do some research which MHG is better bead, stopper, and which case to use 1.2 or 2mm...also i got an intercooler i am looking at that might work...hrmmm off a 7.3 powerstroke if i can come up with the extra cash 550s lexus afm and SAFC but we will see what i run into!:nono:
