I removed my turbo the other day and noticed the exhaust side is covered by a layer of white ash residue, it can be removed brushing hard with a wire brush, i wonder what that is ?? The inlet to the turbine is also covered in white so I do not believe it comes from a leaking turbo seal. The engine does not blow smoke more than normal exhaust, and my wide band shows it never runs lean. I don't remember it being this white the last time I took it out. Does it indicate the engine has a problem ? thanks for any input.
