Whats up guys Ive been researching my 2JZ MK3 swap and have almost everything gathered. Alot of you guys have done this swap successfully so Im curious to know what differentials you went with? Should I get a 2J diff or should I build my stock rear end. My power goals are between 5-600whp. I know our 7M diffs can withstand alot of power I just want to know which one is better. Im used to the 7M section if I posted in the wrong section moderators please spare me.

2j came in a few cars. None of which wil fit in a mk3.

You will get the same outcome with a 7m or 2j.

Stock diff is fine. Can get a rebuilt kit for it.

2j is the best its right that come in rare cars but, in many it is available, it gives an royal look to your car as @hvyman mention in his pics,
From my point of view you should use it gives absolutely different look.

Pretty sure that the stock diff is fine until you start topping 700 rwhp (from my reading)..

I dont have actual knowledge to assist you with... but 400-500 should be fine. Just make sure its a LSD and you'll be happy. (Dont think all the NA MK3's came with LSD.. unless it had the "Sport Package")

A 7m lsd diff will be ok...just rebuild it. As for which 7m diff to use.....the 3:91 is a happy medium for city/ highway driving, for better fuel economy and extended driving situations etc....countty...the 3:73 would be my choice ( lower rpms cruising) . The n/a LSD version is better for drag racing.....that's just my 2 cents...lollol
