ok, as of right now i am using a stant levervent cap on my 89 t. new rad, thermostat, yadda yadda. i am pretty sure my hg is starting to leak too, but i have noticed even if i dont spool it up and check it, theres a lot of coolant blown in to the overflow tank and it doen not get sucked back in properly.

so, ya guys think i should ditch the 13 lb lever vent for a regular style? i hate going to yoda for somthing that small. b.t.w. the rad cap is only 6 months old.

Well since someone started a thread about this. I just bought a trd cap off of ebay. Came in, doesn't fit. I tried it on my wife's '89, doesn't fit. I had previously bought two different rcaps for my car at advanced auto parts. Neither one of them fit. I have had two previous supras, so I know this is the stock radiator, but I can't find a cap that will fit..................lol

There are two types of caps for our cars. I had the same problem. I think the later years had a wider opening on the radiator or somethign like that, because the cap woud not go in the grooves.

im not worried about fitment of the rad cap. it fits fine.

it just wont suck coolant back into the radiator when its cooling down like its supposed to. im leaning towards the whole lever vent cap i have on there now. any ideas other than it wont fit would be great!

I have a Blitz I'm pretty happy with (PWR rad). Just beware that it will show absolutely any weakness in your cooling system after you shut the car off from the increased pressure. Multiple times it has blown lines and connections on me.
