I just finished the hard part of my single upgrade project. The turbo on my 1JZ is a Trust (greddy) T78 33D. The oil feed line that I got was the "collar" type with the drilled bolt to allow the oil to pass. I'm concerned that there isn't enough oil going through it. I haven't driven the car, but at start up, the turbo free wheels at an idle. Once it warms up, it gradually slows until it stops. Once I rev it, it spins up again.
This may be normal for a bushing turbo of this size, but I haven't messed with one before. I almost ordered a fitting to adapt the feed line to go straight in, but I read in another thread that you can have too much oil.
Is there a test for that? Does anyone else run this setup that would know something. I'd appreaciate it. I'm still a ways from getting the car on the road full time, but would like to get it to the exhaust shop so as to wrap up the mechanical part and with the lowering kit, it is nearly impossible to get the car on a trailer so I'd want to drive it if I could.
Thanks
