I purchased a 1jz . This for drag. I here alot of guys say that the 1j isn't a drag motor. What I want is opinons on the matter. Before I put the motor in the car if I need to go 2j bottom I will. I felt that I would be able to make up for the torque with rev but what I need is opionons not a debate.

Maybe its just me, but i think the 1j makes for a great drag motor. Combined with a large single turbo, it makes most of its power up top where its effective in dragging. With a big turbo, good management,4.30 rear, some headwork, and a nice valvetrain, i think a 1j car will fly at the track.

Not that i'd put one in my car of course ;) :D

cause its in comparison to the 7m. which of course makes the 1jz torqueless. against a honda, now that would be like the torque god ;)

whatever you say.

I've never been in a race with a 7M where the 7M's super l33t torque made it hard for me to keep up or win.

From a dig, a slow roll, or higher roll.

again, whatever you say dude

I've pulled on a 7M car that dynoed 350hp/385tq, a t04e equipped car, a stock CT26 bpu car, just to name a few.

I can have 1 or all these members confirm if you don't believe as they all post here.

all this talk about torque is ridiculous imo. if you want real torque go buy a high displacement v8 or diesel... small displacement turbo I6s are not for you.
