I would go with a .82 AR.

550 injectors is getting to their max capacity for 550 HP.

.82 ar would be t3 if you go t4 .68 is the biggest available from Garrett. And If you go t3 I'd do the biggest one available personally. And I have a little experience with these turbo's I'm the one who made 589@ 28-29 psi that Drbowser referred too.

You do know the T3 and T4 only refers to the flange don't you?
(Wheels and nozzles are the same for a .82 in either flange)

Yes sir. But being that the biggest t-4 available is the .68, I reccomend if you're going to go t-3 take advantage of the bigger ar available and get an .82.

Believe it or not I have a shop and I also sell parts, this month I've sold 3 gt35r's so far.

Doesn't your father have a shop?

I wasn't being a smartarse I was just pointing it out as a LOT of people seem to misunderstand the 2 housing options and think the T4 is bigger/flows more.

You say "I made 589@28/29psi" like it's meant to impress us or something?

I made 550@22psi on propane with a 3540r it's not like it's rocket science, only difference being I used a 1.06ar T3 turbine housing to do it.

butt buddies?

Nah think you have the wrong guy there....

I'd followed a post on SF about the shop and thought it was your dad's you're reading way too much into things here.

Not every post is an attack I don't have time for kiddie games.

I figured you'd know about the housings but wanted to verify it just in case as I've heard a LOT of people that I would have expected to no better preaching the T4 is bigger/better when talking about the 3540r.

Ok my apologies, but yes I do know a little bit here and there, I dont post much in these kind of threads unless I actually HAVE the experience, I cannot stand when people post advice and act like they know it all and then they build something and it is a failure. I dont really care to impress anyone like I said I haev files of dyno's and track runs and vids I dont bother really posting, when I put the car in the 9's then I'll post something, because that's impressive other than that no need to try and impress.

Victor changes turbos more than most change their underwear. It helped a lot to have someone who had vast experience with all sorts of turbos and opinions on each

FYI, it is no longer just his father's shop. Upon acquiring a new location, it has become a partnership. So unless your source was based on reading past posts, might want to tell your source otherwise.

And the 589 was made with the stock intake and 264 cams. Not the greatest #'s but good none-the-less.

On my car I have the .68 T4 housing GT3582R. I love the spool. On an extremely conservative tune, at 17psi I make ~430rwhp on a daily basis. I drive this car daily and it is a ton of fun in light traffic, lane changes are a breeze. As for T3 housing I have only had an experience with a .68, it went on a 4G63.

As for the original topic on which housing is better, I feel it depends on what and where you want to make power. My .68 T4 only slightly drops off at the very top, say around 6k rpm, but that is with a completely stock(minus MHG) 155k mile longblock with a ebay manifold and stock intake.

Hope this helps.

I believe the 2 of you did, so maybe I should not have used FYI. It was more to clear up any confusion to the rest of the forum. I believe his post where he stated that it was his as well as his fathers shop, was deleted.
