If you are set to go with a 1jz then best bet is a clip. You will have everything you need (or at least should) plus less risk of damaged parts. The 2jz-ge NA-T route might end up being a little more sourcing but... how can you go wrong with a 2jz? very little differences between the ge and gte's.
