Paint it the colour YOU prefer. It's YOUR car, not ours.

If it where me id paint it the original color... Its easy, and cheaper and you wont half to worry about much!

Just remember one thing, if you decide on black it will show every flaw and every spec of dirt. Alpine Silver looks pretty good, and as you see Light Metallic Blue "aka Gay Blue" can look very nice (the color really grew on me). My paint is just a few days old and still needs to be wet sanded in a month to really make it shine. In the end it's all a matter of how much attention you want, how much you are willing to pay (red is extremely expensive), and what colors you prefer. I know several guys on here have Nissan and Subaru colors on their Supra's. I was the odd ball and went with stock gay blue. Also, don't forget that 90% of the paint quality is in the prep work.

are your door jams and engine bay getting painted also? if not i'd try to keep it closest to the factory color. just so everythig smoothens out. i really wanted to go for a mid copper color for my mk3 but decided to get a nice maroon because i wanted everything to be matching.
