IJ, whadya want for the ssv4?

Jay, I think you will be making a bit too much for the a340 to be worth building. You can grab a th350 for ~ 1k, built to handle your power, another 1400 for the adaptor and converter. And you still get the joy of shifting all the time.

I'm talking with my local transmission shop about helping me with the 700R. I'm just talking with him and haven't made up my mind yet, but I really want an overdrive and I don't make more than 650rwhp, so the 700r should hold it. Thanks again for all the help, support and suggestions.

Thanks for the offer of the ssv4 Ian. If Mike or Jdub don't get it, I may get it later if I decide the 340e is best for me.

Hey Jay, are you set on the auto route? If so, give a call and let me know what you want for your drive shaft, mine started bangin around last night :nono:, that is if it's not spoken for yet....

I would stick with a ATI A340E, their product has ben proven several times over.

Use an aftermarket Trans controller like a SSv4 ;) (I just so happen to have one I'll sell you cheap)

Yes he could but his stand alone wasn't up to par is what I was talking about ;)

TH350 or 400 would be an easier route and stronger in case you want to go bigger hp down the road.

What power you putting out with yours Ian?
Search on SF for the BL trans.

I know the 350 would be an easier swap than the 700r, but I want a fourth gear for highway speed. I'm hoping I can figure out a way to hook the cable up to my thorttle body for the gear shifts. I'm still up in the air about everything because I can't call a few people I need to talk with until after the fourth.

Jay, you can get 700r4s with a full manual valve body, so there will be no need to futz with wiring, just have to shift it manually all the time.

I can get a manual shift valve body, but I'm pretty sure I can get the linkage to work also. I have Redneck engineering on my side..........:biglaugh:

Right now the biggest problem is finding an adapter plate less than six hundred dollars. That's a large chunk of change for a piece of metal with holes in it. I don't mind paying a lot for a fully built transmission, but I do mind paying out the ass for a plate of aluminum or steel. If I can't find one reasonably priced then I will just put in another clutch.

of course when you make the final table money will no longer be an issue ;)

I think you are making it more complicated than it needs to be. Get an A340 built like IJ and put that in and be done with it.

That's why I haven't ordered anything yet Pete. I'm remaining confident that I will be able to send it to RREV like the ballers from upnorth..........:biglaugh:

I would love too, but I have two girls and I feel like I'd be cheating them out of things they need. I have to buy school supplies in the upcoming month and they'd have to wear hand me downs if I buy this transmission right now............:biglaugh:

I am telling you, PM suprarich. He gets killer deals on all ATI products, including their adapter plate ;)
I will talk with him Mike, but a killer deal on a six hundred dollar item would be five hundred dollars. The ones for the 7m's are only three hundred. They aren't any more difficult to make, they just take for granted that 2jz owners are rich...........even if your 2jz is in a seventeen year old car.
