Perhaps we should plan a Q&A session with Jones, and me.

I just returned from the Buick nationals in Bowling Green, we had a tech session that filled a decent sized room at the Holiday Inn.

I and Mike L. were on the panel, along with Harry from Precision Turbo, Julio from Alky Control, and Lance from F.A.S.T.

The Translator Pro and Gen-II questions mostly revolved around integrating the Pro system and methanol injection. There were no questions related to tune drifting.....

So, I'm all for it, lets get it together.

Bob

damn i wish i knew about that, i would have came since its only an hour from me.

Give us a shout when you are available for some Q & A time.

I have a couple specific questions for you.

Thanks for chiming in Doc.

Wayne

heh. i'll never really be available. your best bet is to keep posting on the big MAFT pro thread, that way i'll be able to answer @ my lesuire and everything will still be confined to one thread....

Sounds good, we will keep the big thread the focal point of the technical discussion.

I am looking for someone (locally I hope) to help me test the timing control....

WRT the part throttle tune, it is true that any piggyback can be tuned well or tuned poorly. I am hard at work on some new tricks to make this even better...

And to re-iterate the announcement in the other thread, the Flow curve from the NA flapper MAF will be in the next software release of the MAFT Pro and Gen-II

I have had no major issues with my MAFTPro and completely enjoy it. Just ask some of the mkIII's I ran in the modified class at TX2K6, and I was still pig rich because I hadn't even finished adjusting at that time :nono: .
But I have definantly learned a little more about ECU operations and tuning :biglaugh:

heh. yup. ;)

the thing people don't get is that the common response is this: if something works or is good, you don't post or talk to the seller. prime example is selling anything (ebay, etc.) if what you sell works, you never hear from the buyer again. however, if it doesn't work there will be all sorts of fallout....look @ the posts about ANY device (MAFT pro, SAFC, blah blah blah), how many are "gee this thing works great"? not many....complaints will always outnumber praises....

Before the good doctor posted on the "big thread" a couple days ago, the last post was on 5-11-06 I think.

Hey, if its working, post some of the the things you did to make it work and tune. I know all cars will be a bit different in their tune but base lines or somwhere to start would be good.

As far as a waste of a thread, this was posted in the general discussion forum, which is just that general discussion. I see alot of bullshit topics and post here and have to wade through it to reach anything viable. But I keep my opinion to myself unless I can give constructive help or really have something concrete to offer.

You know what they say opinions are like elbows and assholes, everybody's got one, good or bad.

Lastly, are currently running the pro?

If you want a base tune for the Maftpro.. it comes with one.. if you want a specific tune with specific variables, I posted one with details of the car on the fullthrottletech.com website. You can find it in the User supplied bin section. But be warned that this is to be used at your own discretion. This is what is working for this specific car (89 turbo) but it may not do it for yours. User be ware!

what?

no.

as w/all piggybacks, the MAFT pro doesn't do a dang thing until you tell it to....

if by "base tune" you mean car-specific configuration settings, then sure.....but there's no "base map", etc. included or needed.

That's what I meant by base tune since the start up map is what you have to put in just to get the car to start!

...And this would hold true for most if not all non OEM units, wether its a piggyback or a stand alone.

eh. to me, startup map = a "base map", i.e. implying standalone, etc.....same confusion that we had back in the eman ultimate discussion....
