Where should i ground my EBC that im about to install? Im going to use the 12v off the cig lighter for it, but wheres a good spot to ground it at up around the center console etc. If no one responds ill figure it out tomorrow when i go take stuff apart, but i'd be nice to know where a good location is.

I believe there is a ground wire in the cig outlet too. Tap into that. If not find a bolt that goes to the chasis scratch the paint off and your golden.

Should be one in the radio also, tap into that.

Good shit man. Time to go look through cygnusx1. I don't think he has the radio schmatics/cig lighter wiring on there does he? Cig lighter maybe, but i doubt the radio. Do you know what color the ground wire is coming off the deck?

Lol, wish I did. I started thinking about it, there is a ground wire in the cig outlet. I put my oil pressure gauge there, so I know there is one there. May be easier to get to that one. There are only like 4 wires behind it so its pretty simple.

I thought the only wire coming off of the cig lighter was the thick red 12v wire that slides over the back of it, but i may be wrong. Its been a few months since i had the center console apart.

Nope, well atleast not on my 91. There should be 2 going to the cig and two that run off to a light for the ashtray light.

Self tapping screw would work also, just get the paint gone.

Ok... I went downstairs to the garage to start to run the wiring, and i had a question. Would the ground wire coming off of the plug for the cig lighter etc. be a white wire with black dashs or something? Theres a 2 red wires, and 2 green wires, and a white and black one. I figured the w/b one would be the ground but im not entirely sure. Wanted to check here first. Anyways, gonna go run the vac lines for the solenoid then ill be back.

Thanks guys,
Shane

If you have trouble reading schematics, you can also use a DMM and look for continuitity between a known ground, and the wire in question.

But yes the w/b would be the ground.

Thanks for all the help guys! Making a last minute run to autozone for a vacume T thing and im done! Wish me luck!
