The black wire is the fusible link that Shaeff was talking about. I replaced mine with a 100 amp. fuse.
Where to buy 100 amp alt fuse???

They are not that expensive,and easy to replace.Just take your time taking the box apart and replace it with a new one.Kill the power first,of course!
