Where does this hose go?

I am not sure but think this is some kind of valve (blow off valve?) operated by vacuum maybe? My bigger concern is where it leads to. I traced the hose across the engine and down between the head and intake. It hangs down below the intake but I am not seeing where to hook the hose to. Thanx

I *think* he's talking about the signal line for the bypass valve... would help a fair bit if the hose he's referring to was highlighted or circled or something, as there are a fair number of hoses in the photo.

If you are talking about the small signal line that goes from the BPV to a hardline in front of the 3000 pipe, to a rubber elbow that shoots straight down past the fuel rail and between the intake and the head, it connectes to another hardline on the fuel rail, scoots down under the intake, changed to a rubber hose that fires almost directly away from the block, turns back into a hardline that runs along the bottom of the intake and curves up around the front of the intake, then a very short rubber piece that bends over to a big hex style port on the front of the manifold.

If you're refering to the vaccum hardpipe that the vac line connects to, it runs to the throttle body area and there should be a small hard line poking up from in between the intake runners. The harline running parallel to the 3000 pipe should have a shor piece of vaccum hose connecting it to the hardline from under the intake manifold. If that hardline is disconnected, there is a tangled mess of vaccume tubes under the intake manifold and the hardline between the runners connects to one of the several harlines under the intake mani via another short vac hose. The hard line it connects to should have constant, strong vaccum when the engine is running.
The big 19mm hose connects directly to the 3000 pipe (pipe that has 3000 written on it in large lettering).
Edit:
Damn you Dave ;)

PS: The 3000 pipe is the part that runs from the throttle body on the driver's side over the valve covers and then bends 45 degrees and heads for the hole in the fenderwall on it's way to the intercooler.

Thanks. I was talking about the small vacuum hose. I guess it is time to figure out how to put a circle on a pic. I will do some tracing to see where it connects to the bottom of the intake. Would that be on the plenum or intake manifold?

There is a large vac port on the front of the plenum with a huge hex head on it that feeds the mani when the power steering kicks in. There is a short hose that connects that large port to a hardline running down behind the alternator. THat hardline has a small T in it running toward the engine block, from there it connects to the rats nest under the plenum, and then up through the manifold.

I have the tsrm....., Give me a Chilton any day.
Good God, I hope you are kidding. I have all three manuals, the Toyota one is by far the most useful, and the Chilton's version is next to useless except for one thing - it's small enough to fit in the glovebox.

Got it hooked up. There are actually three vacuum feeds on that large line that comes down from the front of the plenum. I am sure glad you guys helped me out on that one as I had connected the fuel return hose to the largest one (that points down at about center of the plenum). Duh! After much feeling around, I found the right hard line for the fuel line to connect to. Do you think there is another car out there as complicated as this one is?

Let's see,
Chilton- Covers two models across several generations in generic detail over 400 or so pages.

Hayne's- Owns Chilton so it's the same thing only written in UK style English (WTF! boot !?! Bonnet?!?)

TSRM- Written specifically for my car and my generation, and covers everything in great detail over a thousand or so pages.

TSRM FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!! WOOT! :D
