ive done this twice due to two engines who people started head gaskets on and then stoped with the heads off.
i just looped chain around/through the ac compressor bracket and then around the motormount on the other side it held up fine but proceed at your own risk what works for me might not work for you

just make sure you go slow and keep an eye on everything. and keep all feet/fingers out of the way of the engine when it falls. guy i know has 'allison' stamped into his back when the trans hoist's hydraulics gave out under the semi and the tranny fell on him. crushed damn near every vertebrae in his back.
