This is actually a question for those of you who have custom/modified front bumpers, where/how did you mount your front plate? I have a "turbo-a" duct in my bumper, and was looking for ideas. Texas is still a Nazi state that requires front plates. (No, the bill did not go through!) And yes, the police here like giving tickets for it. Last one cost me $100. Pics are appreciated.

My state has that law too but doesn't inforce it much, so mine is hanging in my garage.
I've seen it mounted next to the foglight low on the bumper covering up a bit of the IC/radiator opening, It looks good but restricts air flow obviously.

It DOES look so much better without.
I did the same thing as BoostnLoose, except on the RH side, closer to the actual license plate area.
BTW, BoostnLoose: Still love the car every time I see it. I would chase you down like a madman if I ever saw you just to thank you in person for saving that car's life :bigthumb:

calfornia law states it can not be under or over a certain height off the ground... i believe no lower then 10" and no higher then 3' or something like that.... and that it must be fully readable and unubstructed.... i read the wording very carefully and determined that putting it in the window without the wiper blocking it meets all the state requirements :bigthumb:

i bought those little suction cup things from pep boys, they fit in the holes perfectly and grab very well so in the event of an accident or something the plate wont' fly into my head :)

I got questioned by a cop who pulled me over for no registration tag and I said when I bought it the dealer snapped the bolt off in the front bumper(which was true) and he said thats fine. just fix it.

This is how Jeremy (turbodrifter) mounted his with his Turbo A duct, it's just a small bracket. I will probably do the same when I get a Turbo A duct.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Kinda blocks my oil cooler, but I`m sure there`s enough ambient air there for it.

Loki: Isn't that the Turbo-A bracket style? I know they had one like that on either the Turbo-A or the TT-R...
They sell those on ebay for like $10 shipped. I almost bought one way back when.

anyone think about doing it laid back at an angle? I currently have mine in my front window but lots of my friends have gotten pulled over for it and I just dont want that trouble. I know putting it at an angle could probly be problems in some perspectives but ya gotta irritate the police a lil right? :evil2:

Are you aloud to fold it just so the numbers are showing? I have the bottom part of mine folded up so it doesn't block any air to the IC, but I don't have a Turbo-A duct. I would say just fold the part above and below the numbers behind the middle and it will at least make it more compact.
