22 years of South Carolina sun has shrunk and cracked the black plastic coating on the window and windshield trim. What's the best restoration value? Powder coat? Paint? New trim (if still available)?

New trim is NOT expensive through Toyota and will look better and last longer than any DIY I've seen. Costs about $150 for all trim brand new with clips.

That being said, if you want to cheap out of the restore, Plasti-dip looks pretty good and might last a good while with a protective clear.

Sadly, I'm considering buying a set, just to have a set, given the inevitable "expiration of availability" that the windshield and hatch trim that is to eventually come...

I would never really worry so much about the front windshield or the quarter glass.. the trim in those areas can be replaced with aftermarket that looks great, perhaps better than stock.

However, the hatch trim is another story entirely IMO. That is, unless someone has produced results that look decent that regard as well.

In the end, I'm far more paranoid about the targa, hatch, and tail-light seals. Those are the ones I'm more interested in collecting.
