Ah fellow old bastard!

I was on the Internet before it was the Internet. Actually started out playing around on the GE TelMail network as an 'uninvited guest'... ;)

I remember playing with HyperCard in the early 90's and wondering if this HTML crap would go anyway. :)

I think I owned my first personal computer in 1980. :aigo:

So do you date from before or after the September that never ended?

I'm definitely from well before, and I'll tell you it's never been the same out here since...

I remember using the internet way back in the day on my Windows 3.11 computer and when my dad had his bulletin board up and running back in the late 80's/early 90's. It was pimp.

I was online before most people my age.

Very interesting thread... Thanks for that epic post Mike, I had no idea about the history of the site, and it's great to know!

You've done an incredible job! :boobies: :boobies: :boobies:

'97 here, at the whopping age of 6.

This is the best site I've ever been on, period.

You could have any problem, with any kind of anything, and SOMEONE on this board could at least make an educated guess at the problem. When I joined a little over a year ago, I knew very very little about cars. In the past year, I've learned more than my dad knows with his 30ish years of hands on experience, and I can keep up with any document/discussion about anything mechanical without too much effort. Without Supramania, I'd still be a complete n00b that could barely do routine maintenance.

The administration is awesome, the administrators are awesome, I'm awesome, it's all good :)

Unfortunately, I came in right after! My first computer was an Atari 800XL, then I moved to a 286, 386sx (later bought the math co-processor) ;)

Scary that I'm only 24, eh? :biglaugh:

I'm kind of proud to say that I've watched the internet grow up. It's a fair bit better than dialing a BBS @ 300 baud ;)

LMAO. I still remember using a computer that ran off DOS and playing Tomb Raider when it was still a real game, and then getting Windows 3.1 and thinking it was awesome, haha

Thanks all, I feel like a kid now. I didn't get my first comp until '99. I did, however, build it myself. Still do, as a matter of fact. Compared to some of you, I'm definitely a newb.

And this is the best car forum I've been on so far. I started out on SF, but the never ending "which body kit do you like for my car" thing got old...

I MUST hear this "song"!

I remember back in about 1992 when I was about 5...My grandma had just bought a 386 and it had Windows 3.1 O_O I thought it was a massively expensive piece of ultra-modern technology...and all I used on it was Paint. :D

WoW! i'm so glad i started this thread, and crazy nice caffene-induced post mike!

I remember the first time i had any substantial time on a computer was those old apple computers with 3.5 inch floppy slots... just used them for educational games, math and such. :) "shoot the correct equation before time runs out!" and funny 32-bit stuff like that. i think it was 32 bit. basically NES-looking stuff. or even more basic... GOOD TIMES!!

I loved those days....
