When are custom fuel lines required?

Hey chunks, have you worked with the aluminum tube so far? I wonder how easy it is to work.

With the external pumps like DBs, is there any internal tank baffeling needed? And how is the sock or filter attached in tank?

no, it is drilled right in the center of the stock baffle where the stock filter picks up.

you don't have to use an intank filter, you can run an external pre-filter.

mine has the stock filter with the inlet drilled out and tapped for the bulkhead union and screwed on. the other side obviously goes to a 90* to the pump.

sorry, don't have pic of mod'd stock. the stock one works well, and free vs $100. also don't have something else hanging under the tank. I have a post filter that is mounted on the frame rail under the driver side floor pan.

I bent it a little just to see how it works and it seems easy enough to bend. Didn't try flaring it or anything though. Bends by hand pretty easy though. Just be careful not to kink it.

I would like to replace my fuel lines with -6an feed -6an return , not because I plan on making 600hp but because my stock lines have rusted thru in a few spots and are leaking... The rust ended up eating up alot of stuff and I replaced all the rear hard brake lines and all 4 calipers the car. I just got the car it has been sitting since 2000 and I am in the process of rebuilding/refreshing everything.

I would like to see some picture of the bulk head fittings installed on the supra stock tank, and maybe see where everyone routed there new lines , and what you guys fastened the lines down with...

I routed my lines through the stock hanger using 90* 6AN fittings. I have a filter on the feed and return lines.

I am curious as to how far the 6an lines will get me before having to upgrade to 8 or 10an. Anyone know?

I'm using aluminum hardline for a few things on my car. Honestly, the best bet is to spend the money and buy good tubing tools.

I got this for flaring: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/topages/flaringtools2.php
and this for bending: http://www.newmantools.com/imperial/tb3.html which I found locally in a plumbing/AC supply store for $35. It was one of the only bending tools I could find that would do 1/2" line (1/2" line = -8, 3/8" line = -6)
