I know everyone has covered max width tires on the mk3, but Im wondering if when the car is dropped about 1.5 inch, does it have an effect on the max width without rubbing? Im looking at a set of 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rears with a +35 offset, but could I run 9.5 all around without rubbing, I'd like to be able to rotate if possible. According to what I've read here, they will fit, and it looks like a lot of people have their cars lowered, but no one says specifically. Also, will these fit without rolling fenders, and without rubbing? One more thing, what should i do about the tire sizes? The guy at the store said like a 255/40 up front but was too busy to do the size for the back.. I was thinking more like a 235-245 up front and maybe a 265 in back?? What do you guys think? Thanks! Sorry again that I'm being lame and posting this even though it's been covered millions of times :1zhelp: !

fitment... thats the keyword I was missing. I was trying size, width, and other things. Let me try that, bet it will work better :)

im not sure about 9.5" wide, but doc J was running 9's with 275 (iirc) all around on the big brown beast. go poke around and see what he was using for an offset. i think it could be possible to run 9.5 inch wide wheels all around, you would just have to get the right offset, maby roll the fender lips, and watch tire width up front.

this is all just speculation, so do a little reaserch before you listen to my wacky opinions :)

Tried my 9.5"'s on the front(35mm offset) inside edge of rim, hits the strut tower, on a lock-to-lock turn. If the offset were a 30mm, it might work. I think Dr. J's rims are 18x9's, with a 30mm offset, and the 275's on them. I know he had to do a little fender well modification to get them to fit, but it's possible.:icon_bigg
