Wheel width and tire size question

I have searched and read up on tire and wheel sizing from this forum.

I still have some questions though...

I really want to buy these rims:
http://www.thewheelconnection.com/php/showwheel.php?name=Sokudo10&brand=ADR&brandsearch=1
But the widest they come in is 18x7.5 inches. Ideally I want a 8 inch for the front and a 9.5 for the rear. Is there anyway I can run a wider TIRE on the rim to increase the width? Or does the rim have to be the appropriate size? Also, what is wrong with running a smaller width rim compared to a larger width rim?

Worst case scenario(sp?) I would get these rims:
http://www.thewheelconnection.com/php/showwheel.php?name=M-sport&brand=ADR&brandsearch=1
In 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 for the front.
But the problem with the M-sport I have read is "everyone" has them... PLUS I like the look of the 10 hole Sokudo rim better as pictured in the first link.

Can anyone help me with my problem? I am going with ADR rims because so far they have been the best bang for the buck in the "look" I am searching for.

Thanks

Don't get the Sokudo's in 7.5", they will look gay.:nono: They aren't even the correct offset (fwd):aigo: ADR M-Sports, ftw! Get the new gloss black finsh, I guarantee not everyone has those!:icon_razz

I used to have M-Sports on my Supra.

They come in different offsets, don't they?

Why would the 7.5" look gay? Too narrow?

I was looking at the M-sport and they look amazing in the black finish. The M-classic looks awesome too, but they haven't released it yet.

Thanks

Those ADR Sokudo10s don't even match the bolt pattern. We have 5x114.3. Those only come in 5x100.

The offseton the ADR Sokudo10s come in 40 and 48 though.

That still doesn't help much as the 48 offset will give you 8mm more clearance on the inner edge but will also suck the outer edge inward by 4mm.

The 40 offset will push the rims out 4mm and give you 16mm more inner clearance.

Not that any of these numbers matter though as the rims only come in 7" wide and only fit 5x100 bolt patterns.

For a usefull tool be sure to visit http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

The stock rim size is 7.5" wide with a 50 offset

Sorry... 37 is the right offset. The width is 7.5. Chris has the font on his site so small that I flip the MkIII and MkIV wheel offsets - of course I do run 1600x1200 on my laptop. :)
