I am trying to kill the rust on my supra and keep it from returning for as long as possible. The good news is none of the major rusty areas are visible. I have seen way rustier supras, this is the worst area of my car. It is also the only rusty area of my car. Just so happens to be the same corner with the big dents that were filled in with bondo, so while the trunk lining is out they are getting bumped back out, feels like it has 1/2" thick of bondo! looks terrible and over the years cracked and popped out. I used a wire brush on an electric drill to clean it up some today, going to get a scotch-brite disc and clean it up some more later.
First things first though, got to fix the inner wheel well rust issues.

For those pinholes there, what could be used to fill them in? Unfortunately I have no welder and dont know anyone with one. Its not going to be visible.

For the 2 rust holes in the inner wheel well area, can I get away with fibreglassing those holes? I know its terrible, not having a welder and all I just cant afford one. I know I'm going to get flamed for that one.

Any suggestions for the rust on the inside of the panel(seen through the trunk)? I will get whatever rust I can off with a skinny wire brush on a drill, but its not going to get right into the crack. Should I try some sort of chemical rust convertor or killer? It makes no sense to use that stuff if you can easily get it with a drill, so I have never tried it, never been in this situation.

Once all the rust is fixed(or should I say delayed for a while) What is recommended to coat the wheel well and rear area(covered by bumper shell)?
I have heard all sorts of good things about pqr-15 and rust bullet, supposedly prefers to be applied to rusty pitted surfaces, as it 'converts' rust. They say you can apply it right onto rust, but of course, this is from the sales pitch on their website. Age and rust caused the factory coating to peel and pop off. It has to be able to go over fiberglass, and be applied over the stock coating as I'm not going to brush it all off on areas where it is solid and not chipping or peeling. Any good products that can be brushed on, that is preferable over spraying. Also the spare tire hole has some surface rust which is gonna get brushed off, then coated with the same stuff to stop if from coming back.
Thanks for all the help
mike

also that large round hole in the 3rd pic is not a rust hole, is a drain hole with the plug removed. you can see the little pin holes, found a few more in the area after the pic was taken but they are all small.

I would recommend the POR-15,It will at least slow the rust drastically. They sell a starter kit w/the cleaner, brushes and all,for rather cheap, should be enough to do the rear wheel wells.I would suggest some type of rubberized undercoating in the wheel wells, over the por-15,or whatever you use.
For the pinholes,por-15 w/ some fiberglass matt holds up well for that type of thing(good ol' car lot repair)

i think ive seen that before, you take some fiberglass mat or if youre in the ghetto cut a piece of a shirt or something then coat it in that stuff, stick it wet side down then coat the other side.... the pqr website says to put tape on the inside of the hole, then paint over it... LOL!! fiberglass matt is one thing, but TAPE! nooo
whats a good rubberized undercoating? preferably brush on.

Not sure of a brush on,3M,and a cople other brands have spray on that works well.(just for the outside/undercarriage area, for rock chip protection)
The tape method they refer to is for small pinholes,it basically fills the holes w/the POR.This ISN'T a permanent repair, but can last quite a long time.

update: i used some rust convertor liquid in a bottle from canadian tire. its this green gooey stuff, but the main ingredient is phosphoric acid. after I did the wire brushing I left it for a few days, and the pits started to re-flash, so for $5 I thought I would try it out.. Its a bit messy and you have to rinse it off, but the stuff seriously works! I put it on the rusty patches and the rust disappeared. I brushed it on with a little brass bristle brush. When its warm enough im gonna tremclad rust prime it, then coat with rubberized wheel well coating. its freakin -20, cant work on the car.
will have to try the POR-15 one day, but I cant deal with ordering stuff over the internet and waiting right now, when its warm enough to work on the car I jump on the opportunity.
I have an 85 pickup that one day should get the por treatment on the frame, but the supra isnt THAT rusty.

head on down to mopac auto supply - they carry a pretty wide range of the por-15 stuff. I highly recommend the rust preventative paint.

If not POR-15 use Zinc Chromate on it, its a primer, its used on marine applications to stop corrosion, works really good.

Where is that car from? Mines originally from Ontario and has a crap load of undercoating on it, it was only an Ontario car for 2 years though. The only rust ive found is some tiny bubbles on on the rear wheel wells and one spot the size of a dime on the drivers side front fender, but its also dented slightly so im guessing the paint was missing there.

You would be surprised how much rust can hide underneath that undercoating too, never to be seen until the metal is gone.
And Zinc chromate is awesome for rust preventive/protection.Didn't even think about a marine supply co.Most of the automotive paint suppliers quit carrying it (I was using one called Z-chrome)due to VOC content, and EPA regulations.
