im trying to see if these wheels will fit without being sunk in. 16x7 +18. will i need spacers to make them flush?
thanks

16x7+18 will be sunk in. If you want to make an effort towards "flush", you'll be needing a 1" front spacer and 2" rear spacer ...and that's still not "flush"

Below are 2" spacers, one is stacked over another. May I suggest considering the massiveness and the price of these spacers?

hmm would you recommend running it like that or should i look at a different wheel altogether?
look at a different wheel altogether

these are starion fronts im talking about here.(just for reference) so would that put me back at stock fitment?
Not exactly, but almost.

also would the rears be a better choice at 16x8 -10mm?
Yes

ok maybe im not understanding here,
how are they too narrow if they are the same width as the stock ones?
please bear with me im still learning
i thought the offset was what mattered not the width of the tire, im trying to use my stock tire setup
thats why i thought it might be good to run a 16x7 wheel

Before your disclosure about Starion wheels, I stated that 16x7 is too narrow because I was under the impression that you were going to buy aftermarket wheels. I was thinking, "Why is he considering the purchase of 16x7 aftermarket wheels?" I didn't mean that the wheels were "too narrow" to fit, I meant they were "too narrow" as in sunk-in and would be waste of money.

If your intent is to use stock tires, 225/50/16, then a 16x7 wheel is an appropriate wheel size.

Anyone have any experience with the Volk TE37SL?

How would 18x9.5 +22 front and 18X10 +20 rear fit?
Still have stock suspension

Other available offsets are:
18x9.5 22/35/40
18x10.5 15/22

To simplify your search, any fitment that is for the MK4, will work on the MK3 in my experience.
I had SSR Comp's 18" staggered on my MK3, and it was excellent, and cleared massive brakes no problem. (They are not as much as the Ray's, but I'm not sure they are in production anymore.)

Ok i understand now, thank you for the detailed explanation ill start searching for the 8 inch wheel as well
i think i probably shouldnt have used the word flush cause i just want the wheels to be spaced out a tiny bit more than stock. on 225 45r 16's i rub the fender during turns like when going up a driveway with an encline (lowered on H&R springs and tokiko blue's)

This is JUST to tripple check myself B4 I drop alot of coin as well....18x8 w 245/40/18 front 18x9.5 w 265/35/18 back on STOCK suspention will not rub right??

I want to keep stock hight and do not want to roll and pull fenders but keep everything as flush as possable

TSW wheels im looking at only have 2 offsets +20 and +40 do i want +40 all around or +20 front +40 back?

Thanks, I figured +40 will give me plenty of clearance (only 8"wide wheels up front)
Do you think (best guess) is to how flush it will look? I could change up the tire sizes a bit but im trying to play everything pritty safe
I just like the staggered look and love a deep 3" lip in rear and 1.75 in front

I was always under the impression that using a spacer any larger than 25mm would exponentially affect the wheel bearings over time.. depending on what condition they're in.

Of course, coil-overs and aftermarket wheels affect that too, but perhaps not in such a severe fashion.

Ok I've been reading this thread for some time, and all I'm looking for is the widest I can go in the rear with a nice deep dish. I'm not looking to rolling or pull my fenders. As for the front just looking for a nice deep dish look with out rolling or pulling the fenders too. If you want know about the deep dish,... well yah I'm from Chicago. hahhaha
But really just looking for some help
Thanks.

The wheel bearing doesn't know what is attached to it to make the desired offset, just the load, i.e. a 9" +5mm and an 9" +30mm with a 25mm spacers will be the same. Luckily ours are tough, nothing to worry about in the short run.

AE86BLISS, you have a few options. Basically either roll your fenders/stretch tires and get maximum lip, or get convex wheels designed with more lip such as Garson Deep Racing Ryugi and still have weak fitment.

So even these wheel settings would be FML?

Size : 18 x 8.5 (F) & 18 x 9.5 (R)

Offset : 20mm (F) & 25mm (R)

Lip Size : 2" (F) & 3" (R)

If I run with this setup any idea's for tires?

I just recently got mkiv tt rims, and i was wondering what size spacers would give me a nice fit. I saw Bohor's car with mkiv NA rims and spacers and i really like how it looks, would getting the same offsets work for the TT's?

MK4 NA's with spacers
16x8 +22
16x9 +35

EDIT: The spacers im looking to buy are:
10 x Preinstalled Studs
10 x Chrome Lug Nuts
5x4.5" (5x114.3mm) bolt pattern to 5x4.5" (5x114.3mm) bolt pattern

The only thing is they are meant for mustangs 94-11', will there be a problem as the hub bore for the mustang is 70.5mm while the supra has a bore of 60.1mm?

is there anymore pics of mkiv tt rims with spacers? i only found the N/A with spcers. Decided not to buy those spacers, will prob buy the ones off of driftmotion.

If your wheels are solid surface, we highly recommended to purchase Version I 15MM Wheel spacers, otherwise the OEM studs must be shortened so that your wheels can sit flush against the spacers!

Will i run into that problem with the mkiv tt's?

I'm really bad with this wheel sizing stuff but I'm trying to learn..I found these XXR 521's that are 17x7 +38mm, from what I'm gathering are they going to look like they're too far "in" without spacers?

Yes. You can get 17 or 18x10 +25 all around with those wheels.

Lower the offset number the more dish you get.
