I seem to average about 18 overall. I'm always lusting for a jz as the videos etc are just too cool. I have also wondered what the gas mileage is on one of thos "hot" cars with big HP. No issue for me as I can drive my prius when I want to, but just wondering what you guys get during a few days of hard driving?

hey dude, my wife will kick your arse if you laff at her Pruis:evil2: That thing gets 45 mpg and better. We got 51 on a run up the coast to Morrow Bay. My Dodge Cummins actually get s better mileage than my 91 Supe too. WTH?
But neither ca is as fun to drive.

I remember one of the early SILV events I calculated something like 7 or 8 mpg on a tank. This was done just buzzing around town. I've learned to control my size 14 - 15 shoes better since then.

Got 17.7 a few days ago. 550's, 255lh, lex afm, AFPR, 60-1, ton of other stuff.

This was driving with 1 full throttle pull. Not much boosting on that tank.

Yes, but if you had spent the day leaning on the go pedal, what do you think you would pull?

Right now i'm getting 10-15. Still trying to find out why...

BTW This is with not even going over 3k rpm, and staying out of boost way more often then not.

I can get 10-12mpg on my N/A.... its just dependent on that one pedal, but i can also go for a while and the gas wont move at all if im not hard on it.

Better gas mileage for a n/a

SUGGESTIONS;

1. Check your vac lines, replace if necessary
2. Check your intake pipe for leaks or cracks, if present, replace
3. Check fuel lines for fumes being released, replace o rings if necessary
4. DON'T FLOOR IT 24/7 (optional)
5. Drive with your windows up
6. Drive with the targa ON
7. Don't pull any energy other than needed [Electrical power source, or mechanical power source (Stereo, or A/C)]
8. Check your tire pressure
9. Use 91 octane (91 is recommended in the manual I have, and 93 is unnecessary
10. If a manual tranny, shift at a lower RPM, when approaching a red light, or stop, shift into neutral ahead of time
11. Replace oil if needed
12. Don't carry unneeded weight (2,000 buddies and a blow up doll)
13. Remove the spoiler
14. Don't be caught dead with a mullet
15. Replace plugs
16. Replace plug wires
17. Replace air filter
18. Clean the throttle body, and intake pipe.
19. Don't drive the car, in the day, with the headlights up :3d_frown:
20. Replace your flux capacitor

Those all theoretically will improve your gas mileage, I could think of more,
but I'm tired...

Did it or did it not throw a code when that happened?

Down Like A Clown Charley Brown
Big top feed injectors, 2 fuel pumps, etc....I burned up about 5 gallons of VP in 4 or 5 passes.
Figure an equal number of burnouts, driving to the pit area, and the staging area, but that's alot of expensive gas.

I don't know exactly what that was in mpg.

The spoiler actually lowers the drag coefficient according to toyota.

87 octane is just fine as long as the engine doesn't ping.

Yea I use to run 87 in my previous Supra boosting about 8 pounds daily and I had no problems at all. I do recommend using 91 though even if your stock.

Back on topic though I use to get about 15 MPG but thats because of a leaking or defective bypass valve. I replaced it with a working one I had laying around and I instantly noticed my gas mileage increased to around 20 MPG but thats with not boosting and keeping it under 3000 RPM's.
