5900 rpm, 5th gear w/ Koni shocks Eibach springs, 235/40/18 Bridgestone
SO2 tires, 18x8 OZ Superleggera wheels. Side by side with my friends
93 Supra, actually I jumped him for awhile, then his top end carried him
by very Fast. At night on 83S coming back from Carlisle.

In the "younger days" 680 miles in 10 1/2 hrs flat. South Bend to Poughkeepsie
with gas stops and tolls. Flat out across the NY North way in my new 69
Mustang 428 Cobra Jet on Goodyear Polyglass tires. Love called! Gas was
42c for Sunoco 260 and I got a whopping 5 miles to the gallon. Never had a
speeding ticket in that car, sold it and bought a VW and got 3 tickets for doing
80 on the Thru Way!

~150 (6000 RPMS) on Highway 140 chasing (And losing to) a WRX. The guy in the WRX said his speedo read 150 when I backed off (Although most speedos are not really accurate at those speeds)

Mods = 11PSI (The ghetto way with longer bolts and washers), Self made Cold Air Intake, Self Made 3" Catback with a 3in/3out sraight through 18" Oval Magnaflow Muffler(Sounds FANTASTIC btw), 225/50R/16 Yokohama Z rateds. I have a 4.3:1 LSD with an R154 and a 7M crank 7MGTE. Stock 21 y/o TEMS suspension. No other mods of note other than an AFR gauge, a Boost gauge, and a thermostatic fan control for the three accessory fans.

The car didn't shake or even overheat. It floated over everything like it wasn't even going 150 when I backed off. I had just reached the redline when I pressed the clutch. The car never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks it's been an ongoing project with LOTS of changes along the way!

Theoretical 200mph with the TC locked is 6700 rpm so well within my maximum engine speed these days just not sure if it'll have the HP to turn that big a gear that fast.

You do know though if you can have everything exactly at what you need, I am sure your horse power will be fine right now, all about the tuning.:icon_razz

good luck though.

Teal - you're new here so I'm going to be nice...you really need to take a look at this:

The guy you're talking to *might* just know a little about what he's talking about...especially when it comes to tuning ;)

Your comments are a bit out of place.

Ahhh well I guess if my tune isn't right after 11 hours on the dyno and 40+ Data logging runs in the past month it's time to call it a day ;)
(still not convinced 400rwhp will be enough though, 200 is actually 6650rpm)

Question for everyone, any of you that have a " targa " top on your car, how fast have you've gone without it on.. I know even at 80 on the highway there was a very good amount of vibration out of the car, so I am curious to see what numbers people get with that, my best was 120, I was really trying but at the same time I didn't want to go fast with bad aero dynamics anyhow.

It makes it harder to go that fast, but I've gone over 100 with the top off.

It's definately easier with the top on and windows up for obvious reasons...

I've done ~125 and could barely even tell the top was off. :dunno:

Like poodles said though, targa off= slower. Way more drag.

I used to hit 143 every single morning on my way home from work :)

*Edit* Just read the first post. That was driving a '92 SHO. Now that I think about it, I was running slightly larger than stock tires (Nokia ice-racing) so, I guess it was maybe a little faster.
