I did my head gasket job for $100 lol

thats about how much was spent when the hg was done on my 89 n/a when i first got it...myself and one of our guys from socal did the work. i had metal shavings in arms a week after. my 87t the previous owner did the hg shortly before i bought the car. the hg wasn't blown...he did it b/c he knew of the hg problems these cars are known for. he didn't do a bad job and for the time being it is fine, but i plan to redo it when i rebuild the motor. he used a stock hg w/arp head studs torqued to 75 lbs.

i worked for a toyota dealer here in socal for over 2 yrs...i don't really trust the dealers. been around the industry most of my life too. good luck though dude.

well you just dont know the circumstances... i would be more than happy to do the work if i had the time, and the fact that the car is my DD the job needs to be done fast. also its to freakin cold out side, its like 10* every day. so if it were summer i would deffinitly be doing the job.

So far I'm in mine for $1200. That's just prepping the head ;) Other than machine work, I do everything myself.
