Its starting to whine quite loudly... sorta like an alternator bearing going out. I've never heard it that loud before.

I have my fpr set to 32psi vacuum off (injectors flowed out to 640cc on 32psi)
Relocated battery to boot.
Good current from batt to splitter box up front. I haven't replaced any of the stock wiring. I just put a wire joining the old fuel pump resistor and taped it up real hory like LOL. Shall i replace that and join the wires properly?

I have had my walbro running for 600miles.

Any help please... I don't want my walbro dying on the way home tonight LOL

Thanks :)

Where did you buy it at?

You sure it's a genuine Walbro and not a china knockoff?

How much did you pay for it?

Sorry to be nosy, but answering these questions will help out a lot on determining the culprit, or at least ruling a few things out.

I have heard about the whining noise before and I guess its a normal thing from what I have gathered. Some people notice a very noticeable whining noise and soem people say you can barely hear them. I dont think fuel levels have anything to do with the whining noise because other threads I have read their tanks have been full. On the other hand, not to say that its not a problem.

I remember installing the walbro on my evo 9 and it didnt whine at all then we did my buddys evo 9 and his had a significant whine so im not too sure what to tell you as long as the psi checks out and fuel is flowing like it shuld be I wouldn't worry.

I bought it 25 Jan 2005 from this guy http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/mhos1977 but it appears he's no longer registered, i bought it for $85 + $45 shipping

His name is Mosharrat Hossain and seems to be related to Jazz Pro Parts judging by this post http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=775641&postcount=11

They appear to still sell Walbro http://www.jazzproparts.com/product_p/gss315-400-760.htm
This was the email address he was using at the time race_parts2000@sbcglobal.net

It has been silent up until a couple of days ago.
I had about 1-1.5gallons of fuel in the tank and the pump sits very very low. ie. the rubber on the bottom of the pump which holds it in the cradle touches the tank lol
I'm unsure as to why it's so low

I have pics of my fuel pump if it helps

I also bought both mine and my buddys walbro off of ebay and if I remember correctly the pump had walbro on there its been awhile I cant remember for sure. But I am pretty sure it did. I do know the box it came it had walbro on it. And your pump does have the shape of a walbro but like I said its a hit and miss with the whining issue. When it whines do you feel something is wrong with your car?

Watch your AFR's under full boost. I was helping Mo87NA tune his car a few months back, and it kept going way lean under WOT in any gear. Shortly thereafter, he got the wally-death whine. :(

Replaced it, problem solved.

i got mine from JSCspeed.com..paid 99 + 22 shipping. I will much rather buy from a respectable, authorized retailer like them and HPF and Driftmotion then anything fuel or ignition related from ebay. Just my 2cents :icon_bigg

i'm running 2 walbo's and they do get louder as the fuel gets low. Don't trust a fuel pump from ebay ever. Things like that should come from titan, or precision someone big. In the end you could save 50 bucks and spend alot more on a fried piston.

ive got an odd question.... did you remove your rear windshield wiper?
its sound funny but its a serious question. my wiper arm is removed but i left the motor in.
i had the same problem... i had the walboro pump installed for about two years and had no problems. one day i noticed i slight whine from the gas tank. figured it was the fuel pump so i went over the wiring, mounting, etc. couldnt figure it out for my life.
one day i was driving the car with my buddy and was telling him about it. we stopped and he looked around the car for a bit and got back in. he said "dude... your and idiot. your back wiper was on." the noise was the wiper motor. i turned the switch and problem solved.

^Damn he went through a walbro? Did he have it for awhile or was it a faulty fp?

Came in the car, if I remember correctly. Not entirely sure how long it was in there.
