i have no clamps like that on my 89.

i tend not to use clamps like that for too long as they can stretch.

my upper rad hosr was like that. then one day it ran a lil on the warm side and poped off. diffrent clamp and not a issue since at the same type of conditions.

'kay,
Troubleshooting my code 11 issue and also for my low/spongy brake pedal and found this hose, but can't find what it goes to... Looks like it's attached beneath (red arrow) the steering column (green line)... Comes up towards the brake booster (blue arrow)...WTF!?!?:icon_mad:

The engine bay is still too hot for me to feel around behind the booster, but I don't remember anything being there.

I really doubt it's the fuel return line guys. First off it doesn't look like fuel grade hose, secondly that is a weaker clamp then used on the return line; it's a vacuum line style clamp with the long ends, and finally his car is running so I would imagine he'd notice if his return line wasn't connected.

Wow...didn't expect it to be that big a mystery.

Lil' background... Keep in mind that this car's undergone a 1JZ and a 2JZ swap, prior to putting the stock 7M back in. The heat shield that belongs over the steering got bent and pulled up on one of the swaps (I have a replacement somewhere).

The fuel return is good to go and the hose is shaped in a way that makes it seem like it was meant to go between the steering column & frame. Really wierd and it was too hot to mess with it last nite, but it looks like it goes into a metal tube, which may head down towards the rack.

The car is a Canadian model Sup and I suppose there could've been something we removed (or added) with one of the swaps.

Isn't there someone out there with an empty engine bay that can look? I can't believe that I would've missed this big a hose when putting things back together. Still in all my Supra-years, hadn't ever noticed this hose in any of my other Sups.

Ok, What is the other end of that hose hooked to?? Something is wrong!!! It does not belong there...:evil2:

I agree in daylight that the picture I took of the return line on the J-tube is not the hose in the first post. Sorry it is hard to take a good picture..

The hose still looks like the CC vapour return from the hose and clip.......
(if you ignore that it's on the wrong side of the car!)

I'd back track it and see where it's going.

I agree, I think it's just wedged in there.. lol

Unless it's something related to the automatics?

It was already dark tonight, when I tried to trace it. Looks like it goes into a metal tube, which seems to run towards the motor mount, then goes down under the engine (along subframe?).

Now I'm really curious... gonna have to F with it tomorrow for sure....
